  Employment Opportunities

1. Temporary Lead Evaluation Inspector: 

Lower Township is seeking an individual who has the credentials and qualifications to conduct lead inspections; to sample for the presence of lead in paint, dust, soil, and water; and to conduct final clearance evaluations and compliance investigations. Construction employees are often required to work in all kinds of weather or buildings without heating or air conditioning.

Individuals must have 1 year of experience in related field and have completed the required training by the NJ Department of Health (NJDOH). Any training and certifications in this field will be obtained upon acceptance of the position. Individuals must possess a valid NJ drivers license.

         2. Deputy Tax Assessor

Salary shall commensurate with experience.

The Township of Lower Tax Assessor’s Office is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Deputy Tax Assessor. The Deputy Tax Assessor will work closely with the Tax Assessor to assess property values and ensure compliance with local tax laws. Responsibilities include reviewing property records and data to ensure accurate assessment information, respond to taxpayer inquiries, prepare annual tax assessments, collaborate with other departments to resolve assessment related issues, and maintain familiarity with relevant tax laws, regulations, and assessment methodologies.


The applicant must possess a New Jersey Tax Assessor’s Certification. Experience with The Community Rating System (CRS) and Floodplain Management a plus. The applicant must possess a driver’s license in New Jersey.


       3. Part Time Fire Inspector

Salary shall commensurate with experience.

The Township of Lower is seeking a part-time qualified fire inspector to conduct field surveys to identify and register life hazard uses, conduct residential and commercial inspections to ensure compliance with New Jersey Uniform Fire Code, and prepares violation notices and orders to abate and serve to the public where authorized to do so by the Fire Official; does other related duties. Maintaining certification with the Division of Fire Safety pursuant to N.J.A.C. 5:71-4.


The applicant must hold a current State of New Jersey Fire Inspector Certification and possess a driver’s license in New Jersey.
