JOB ANNOUNCEMENT – CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (CFO)
Township of Lower, New Jersey
The Township of Lower, Cape May County, New Jersey seeks an experienced and collaborative Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead municipal finance operations, including budget, audit, cash/debt management, grants, purchasing coordination, payroll/pensions, and financial reporting. This statutory position is governed by N.J.S.A. 40A:9?140.10 et seq.
The position will become effective October 13, 2025. A current New Jersey Certified Municipal Finance Officer (CMFO) certificate is required. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or similar field with five years of experience. Responsibilities include: annual budget preparation, audit coordination and compliance, bank reconciliations, grant management, capital management, financial reporting, pension and payroll, general ledger, purchasing, and more. Experience with Edmunds, Bamboo HR, EPIC/MBOS and SDL preferred. We are looking for a self-starter with excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills who can work in a small team environment and wear multiple hats.
