The Township of Lower is committed to ensuring that all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, have equal access to its programs, services, and activities, facilities, and communications.
In accordance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (hereinafter “ADA”), as amended, the Township of Lower does not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities in its services, programs, or activities or employment practices.
The Township of Lower will not deny any qualified individual with a disability the opportunity to participate in or the benefit from Township services, programs, or activities, and will not subject qualified individuals with disabilities to discrimination.
The Township of Lower does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its hiring or employment practices and complies with applicable regulations promulgated by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission under Title I of the ADA.
Upon request, the Township of Lower will provide appropriate auxiliary aids and services where necessary to afford qualified individuals with disabilities an equal opportunity to participate in and enjoy Township programs, services, and activities to ensure effective communication, by providing documents in alternative formats, and other means of making information and communications readily accessible.
The Township of Lower will make all reasonable modifications to policies, practices, and programs to ensure that individuals with disabilities have an equal opportunity to participate in and enjoy all Township programs, services, and activities. The ADA does not require the Township to take any action that would fundamentally alter the nature of a service, program, or activity, or impose an undue financial or administrative burden.
Requests for Accommodations:
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service, an accessible format, or a reasonable modification of policies or procedures to participate in a Township program, service, or activity, should contact the ADA Coordinator as soon as possible. Requests should be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled program, service, activity, or meeting, when possible; however, the Township will make reasonable efforts to respond to requests made with less notice.

Any person who believes that they have been denied access to a Township program, service, activity, facility, or communication, or who believes they have otherwise been discriminated against on the basis of disability, may file an ADA complaint with the Township.
